Today Ancestry’s genealogy software for iPhone and iPad, Tree To Go hit app the store as a free 2.0.1 update. It now automatically synchronizes changes made to your tree on their website. The app can now be put in the background too. Other than those changes and new localizations (German, Italian, French, Swedish), it reportedly fixes “several” bugs.
Oh, and it appears the Tree To Go name has been dropped. In the app store and on screen it’s labeled “Ancestry”.

Ben,
Having used Reunion for Mac in the early 90’s and not having updated with that program, how would you advise I start back working on genealogy again? Does Ancestry.com take the place of Reunion? Or should I purchase the latest Reunion and go from there? Should I use both programs? Or? I would appreciate your input!
Thanks,
Coralie Cederna Johnson

Hi, Coralie. It’s exciting that you’re interested in picking up your genealogy research again. Certainly upgrade your copy of Reunion since you’re accustomed to it. As for Ancestry.com, it depends on your research goals and primary reason for researching your family history. what are you after? —-Ben >@<
