It seems to work on the Macintosh OK – I don't have access to New Family Search, so can't test that part of it, but it did link to the IGI and find some matches for me.

Yes, you can have Reunion open as well as Insight – before using Insight just export a GEDCOM file out of Reunion so that it's up to date, and then you could run them both side by side if you've got a wide enough screen.

Thank you for the update regarding Insight. I have used it with my pc but was not sure it would work properly in the MAC environment. When you work with insight on the mac, you are working off your GEDCOM, but can you have your genealogy file open to reference to an individual person if needed? I have Danish in my lines and many of them share the same names, similar dates, and places so it can be confusing. Thank you for you assistance.

Yeah I can't access the New Family Search part yet since I'm not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but the Family Insight does connect to the current IGI as shown in the screen shot.

There is at least one Macintosh software that works with New Family Search...

Family Insight by Ohana Software has a version for both Windows and Mac OS X that works with PAF or GEDCOM files and New Family Search.

Hi, Jennifer. Unfortunately none of the Mac genealogy software
interface with the New Family Search right now. I expect Reunion will
be the first. That's also my personal preference for Mac genealogy
software. Have a look at my comparison chart if you haven't already:

You could also run a PC genealogy application in a virtual computer if
New Family Search is a critical factor. Here's an article that

Hi Ben,
I am new to the MAC OSX and have had a difficult time trying to decide what program to utilize for my genealogy work. I was wondering if you know of any MAC genealogy program interfaces directly with New FamilySearch?

Do you have a personal preference for genealogy programs in the MAC environment?

Thanks for quick update info. I meant to click star #3, but thought I had to start @ star #1 & work my way to star #3! Sorry! Updated to 9.08 after your alert, then bought the new app for my iPhone. Thought sync process would require cable connection to my laptop & iPhone, but finally found info to disconnect and do sync via wifi! Seems very cool so far!
Can't wait for your review. I do respect YOUR opinion.
